D1.6 Final Business Modeling Methodology vol.2 Download
- Description:
-
Deliverable D1.6 presents the overall result of two different streams of ONTORULE work on a methodology to produce comprehensive, understandable and documented business model consisting of ontology and rules. The one approach to specify a business model is based on ontology and logic in SBVR, augmented by processes (activities and events) in BPMN where needed. SBVR and BPMN are closely integrated. (Decision) rules are an integral part of the SBVR model, and are internally expressed in a declarative logical language to assure non-ambiguity. These decision rules, like everything else in the model, must be explicitly validated by the knowledge owners. Validation requires full understanding by the knowledge owners, which is assured by methodical use of concrete examples in the language of the knowledge owners.
The other approach is based on recent innovations in the area of automated natural language processing and semi-automated natural language interpretation. These have been have been combined to produce a methodology and prototype tool. This approach enables business experts to design documented business rule models which a first step towards the formalization of BR models and which are critical resources for consistency maintenance, for the traceability of decisions and to bring models up to date when regulations change. This second volume focuses on this methodology for the acquisition of business rule models from policies written in natural language. - File Author:
