From ONTORULE Show Case

The Computer Science Lab of Paris 13 University (Laboratoire d’Informatique de Paris-Nord - LIPN) is a French research laboratory. It is a joint laboratory of the Paris 13 University and of the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS). It is located in Villetaneuse, near Paris. The LIPN has a large expertise in computer science with a strong experience in Artificial Intelligence (Model based System Diagnosis, Machine Learning, Knowledge Representation and Knowledge Acquisition, Natural Language Processing, Qualitative Reasoning, Cognitive Science).

The main research axes of the Knowledge Representation and Natural Language team (RCLN, lead by Adeline Nazarenko) are 1) Natural Language Processing and corpus semantics for text understanding (information extraction, semantic annotation, document indexing and browsing) and 2) knowledge extraction from texts (lexical and domain knowledge acquisition). The RCLN team has a long experience in computational terminology and sub-language processing (medical, legal, genomic domains). Over the last years, it has developed tools to help the access to document content (Ogmios annotation platform, IndDoc indexing tool) or to acquire terminologies and ontologies from texts (YATEA and TERMINAE).

Implemented Components

The following list contains the components implemented by Université de Paris 13.

Paris13 SemEx	Paris13 SemEx is a rule editor. It implements three abstract components of the ONTORULE platform: Candidate rule extraction from NL; Text annotation and Text querying. SemEx is part of the ONTORULE foreground and has been developed by Paris13. It is available for download from the D1.4 deliverable.
Paris13 Terminae	Terminae is a text-based interactive ontology acquisition tool based on the Eclipse platform. It implements two abstract components of the ONTORULE platform Ontology extraction from NL and Text annotation. It has been delivered in D1.1
