PNA Training B.V. PNA Group (PNA). was founded in 1981; in The Netherlands; under the name Nijssen Adviesbureau Voor Informatica bv. The activities really commenced in 1989 when prof Sjir Nijssen; the founder of PNA; decided to leave his full-time position of professor of Computer Science at the University of Queensland. His aim was to fund his own research and development; in the area of knowledge engineering based on predicate logic; fact orientation and natural language with the help of profits generated from knowledge engineering projects performed for customers.
Technische Universität Wien The Institute of Information Systems of Vienna University of Technology (TUWIEN) Austria has four groups: the Distributed Systems Group (DS); the Databases and Artificial Intelligence Group (DBAI); the Knowledge Systems Group (KBS); and the Formal Methods in System Engineering Group (FORSYTE); which perform research in a number of projects funded by the EC and national organisations.

TUWIEN has extensive competence in the fields among others of knowledge representation and reasoning (KRR); computational logic; foundation of databases
and Web intelligence. In particular TUWIEN has longstanding experience and expertise in logic programming-based rule languages; for example the state-of-the-art system DLV for disjunctive logic programming has been developed by TUWIEN.

The research results of TUWIEN have been disseminated in numerous publications in the top-level scientific conferences and journals in these fields.
