Description

Parrot is a RIF and RDF Ontologies documentation tool. It provides users (both business users and developers) with useful reference documentation about rulesets and ontologies expressed in standard languages. Parrot is an open source application and the source code is available from SourceForge. Parrot has been introduced in Deliverable D2.4

Use Parrot

Parrot can operate as a web service, as a command line application, or as an Eclipse plugin.

The easiest way to use Parrot is to access the live demonstration web service provided by Ontorule. The only requirement is a web browser. No local installation is needed. Please note that the Ontorule project may impose limitations in the use of this web service in order to prevent abuse.

The user of the web service is presented with a form to enter the URL of one or many web documents that contain OWL ontologies or RIF rules. Alternatively, if the document is not available from the web, the user can paste the its contents or upload a local file. After clicking in the "Generate documentation" button, the user is presented with the reference documentation generated by Parrot.

Other ways to use Parrot (Web Service, Eclipse Plugin, NeOn Toolkit / Terminae Plugin, Command Line Interface) are described in "How to use Parrot" page.
